The wait is finally over, too Stranger Things returns to our screens this holiday weekend.

Nancy (Natalia Dyer) leads the bill alongside Hopper (David Harbour) and Joyce (Winna Ryder) who planned to kill Vecna - while watching the government’s surveillance to find out if the army has opened in their city.
Eleven disappoints the last power of Vecna, hiring the young hawkins while disguised as Henry and calling himself Mr. Whansit; His stones include Holly Wheeler (Nell Fisher). With the vecna and the government causing chaos, Steve (Joe WEERY), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), Lucas (Caleb Awrke), and Robin (Priah Ferguson), and Erica (Priah Ferguson) All steps to Hawkins’ Saviors.

Here are the things we liked about season five, volume one—and some things we didn’t like so much.
Popularity: Connection to Nest Communication
It will get the “goosies” that’s how he relies on the hive mind, and that makes him a secret weapon at this point. His ability to access the shared consciousness is the power to keep the vecna that will eventually work together, giving hawkins’ heroes a person inside who can see incoming threats.
Popularity: Radio station
Robin works as a hawkins radio DJ and is the voice of the station himself, Steve, and Nancy Run. It’s a way to send hidden messages to their team, including Murray (Brett Gelman) and Hopper, about the government’s departure – if you pay attention to his yoiplip between the selected music played. Loved by Diana Ross “upside down” witle down. The change in home is welcome and adds a new layer of nostalgia to the days before music streaming and the heyday of radio personality.
Also, it feels great star Wars To emit radio signals to track down the bad guys and figure out how to collide with weapons and supplies from hawkins. Steve gives us the Han Solo Yeres to the max when he drives to the cell phone station, which syncs the upthide radio signals down while the hopper is in the area doing a lot of business. Dustin, like his driving style and technical genius, wins our hearts.
Disliked: Jonathan’s crush on Steve
Ever since he came back from California, Jonathan has been obsessed with Steve who is better than him to a strange degree. Their competition for Nancy’s attention is exhausting, and even Steve gets sick. Rightly Jonathan is more focused on her than Nacy because she just sucks him in as a boyfriend. Steve has shown that he has been on the trails with kids protecting them and has matured since his high jerk days. Jonathan’s emotional growth is not enough and will not be fixed by proposing to Nancy, which gave us the ITS when we saw the ring Murray smuggled her. I dread the moment he will frame the question.
You did not like: not enough henry creel origin
Fans lucky enough to go to Stranger Things: The First Shadow Play (or, barring the actual visit to the theater, who snatches the tiktok of the tiktok of ITS) will know more about Henry Creel’s past than henry creel’s past than people who just watched the series. We get a glimpse of his younger years in the show, but not enough to truly understand what going to school was like with Joyce, Hopper, Bob Newby, and the random Harrington. At the playhouse, as he learns about his powers through Brenner, he fights the Flayer’s control with the help of Patty Newby, Bob’s sister.
Likes: Vecna as Mr. Whatsit
In the third amazing episode directed by Frank Darabod, we see Henry return to an Idyllic version of his home, frozen in time when he was last there. His new show is brilliant because he’s actually Freddy Krueger-like taking out the kids, taking care of them as a friendly man in his Henry format who wants to save them from monsters. It’s Eerie, and the Americana version of his Mesion’s Wonderland, where he works as Mr. Rogers around Holly Wheeler and others, is perfect.
Likes: Nancy Goint ’80s heroine
Nancy being the de facto leader gives off Sara Connor Vibes—in a season where Linda Hamilton appears to boot. Vecna takes Holly after attacking the parents of the wheels which really tests her and makes her more interested in destroying vecna than the boys (thank God). He is the brain behind the operation, directing every player at the table to use their skills to defeat VECNA. Under his leadership, they found that vecna focused on children and held a program to protect them.
You didn’t like: not enough Dr. Kay
Dr. Hamilton as Dr. Kay is such an iconic choice, and his introduction is one we’ve been waiting for as soon as we heard about his casting. Season five meets a lot of characters, so maybe we’re expected to find out that we haven’t gotten that much of kay so far. But knowing that he is actually a big bad brenner-esque in this lab that he works for the government gives us the heebie Government. We want to know more about why he wants a dozen and whether he intends to find a way to control Vecna.
Liked: Robin and Will’s interaction
Going into his own with Robin’s help is a fun little thing. Tobin will see each other in ways that others cannot, and they truly cry. Robin has been a mentor to help him accept who he is, the glory of his acceptance of his connection to being looked down upon, really creates a great payoff in volume.
Favorites: Eleven training to kill Vecna
Eleven’s Montage training was sick, and seeing him finally lean into his power when it was aimed at the top was cool. He has grown up, and the hopper is doing well with his ward in helping to be empowered by those he loves. Whether or not you’re the first to experience the final transplant (we think) on vecna, we can’t wait to see it.
Likes: all friendships
Steve and Dustin still have all our hearts; This show is better not to touch a single hair or curl on their heads. (We know it’s going to happen.) And that’s what’s so great about the show: All the friendships are strong, not theirs, and the newbies love them the most when they’re in danger. Also, all the new kids, including Holly, get some great lighting moments at their kidnapping farm, which feels very-meets-WES Craven-of-Sources. Lots of funny moments inside the break action!
Favorites: Living For Grandmothers (sort of)!
Max is alive, by the way; He lives in Henry’s head and can see his memories and plans. Seeing the return of Sadie Sink as a hero in UPSM’s “Dreamworld” high is Freaking Epic as she guides Holly away from Henry’s spears. He is also a way of looking for vecna’s weaknesses and has survived long enough to drive him out of his mind by hiding in a cave.
I didn’t like: the mysterious cave
Okay, so I found the introduction of the cave annoying because I know that’s where Henry meets the super-powered entity, described in Stranger Things Play. I know it’s still only volume one, but cutting out the details doesn’t help viewers truly understand why the vecna are so afraid of the cave.
Likes: English sister eight back
Eight back! It turns out who key has been using vecna on a low level basis, similar to how Brenner tried to use one to do the same in the past. Seeing his return is exciting and finally connects his missing thread to the action. It gives her sister a lift back, which we like.
Likes: will gain strength
Will and vecna come face to face in the middle of the act, where the demons tame the children left and right. It’s scary and released in the way you think Hawkins’ Heroes took another L, especially when Vecna said he chose the will because he was weak, like weak, like weak. And just as you think that the demons are about to kill Mike, Joyce, Lucas, and Robin – you will hit the nest to control the demons, and then destroy them with the new power of vecna killed in the same way vecna killed Chrissy. He’s successfully turning the tables on Vecna, and it’s such a great payoff to see him back on the field again and again.
