A good To-Do List app can bring order to those who struggle to keep track of everything in their schedule. There are tons of options in this space, but my personal favorite is Premium Pumps, which works across Windows, Macs, Android, Linux and the Web. It offers a powerful set of tools for organizing thoughts and creating events. You can organize tasks with specific tags, categorize them by priority, set reminders for recurring events and see all upcoming calendar or “today” views.
Visually, the application is clean, easy to navigate and consistent across devices, so you can put work on the web and update it on the iPad without feeling lost. While it’s clearly designed for note-taking you can combine thoughts and create organized lists within each other. Search works well, and you can create a task in natural language, so typing, “Finish gift guide next Wednesday at 4pm” will automatically set the appropriate date. (This is not bulletproof, but it often continues.) Apps like this are not a cure-all for those who can’t stay on top of their lives, but if your loved one often seems to be less at work, even if your person can help them see a little more clearly. – jd
