‘GTA’ Publisher Rockstar Games accused of union is full after going missing

RockStar Games apparently fired more than 30 workers on Thursday, according to a statement made by the Independent Whisers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB). “RockStar has just carried out the most brutal and ruthless union action in the history of the gaming industry,” said IWGB President Alex Marshall in a union press release. “This is a delicious disregard for the law and the lives of workers who bring their billions to the insults of their fans and the global industry.”

Employees were based in offices in the UK and Canada, Bloomberg reported. According to IWGB organizers, some of the workers who were shot were Visa holders sponsored by Rackstar, while others had medical conditions.
The IWGB said it would “develop its full and strong membership.”
At the time, said two spokespersons – Alan Lewis told Bloomberg The loss was caused by “gross misconduct, and for no other reason” and that “we fully supported the wishes of the rockstar.”
RockStar Games is best known for Grand Theft Auto Franchise. The latest iteration, Grand Theft Auto VIhas been delayed time and time again, with its long-awaited release now slated for May 2026 – but rumors are floating that it could be later.
