IKEA announces new complementary home products

IKEA has officially announced its range of related home products. The Swedish furniture store releases 21 new items under the teppoles for lighting, sensors and control. IKEA teased this release back in July.

Part of the release of the tour will include updates to existing sections to work with the issue, the open source Smart Home Standard. “We develop our most valued products while adding new ones to solve everyday challenges,” said Stjepan Regic, product developer at Ikea. “Our focus has been on keeping things simple to set up for everyday use, so it’s easy for people to start, use and grow a smart home.”

As for the products themselves, 11 come as part of the kajplats smart bulb range. They will have a combination of shape and size, as well as decreasing performance. Then there are the five wise senses. Similarly, there is MyGGBETT, which sends a notification when a door or window is opened or closed.

On the other side of security technology are sensors such as timberflotte, which monitor temperature and humidity. Then there’s the alpstuga, the air quality sensor and the klippbok, the water leak sensor.

Completing the LineUp is remote controls and one plug, grillplats, which work with standard lamps and devices to open and close the use of energy. Then there are four Bilresa products, starting with a button remote control that can turn the lights on and off, adjust the brightness, and create a preset scene. Meanwhile, the remote control and the scroll wheel perform the same functions, as well as death. Two control kits of three each are available for each type.

IKEA does not include exact prices or release dates, noting that they may vary by market. In its July teaser, the company said these products will be available in January next year.
