IOS 26.2 Beta: The most new features

Apple has a new iOS beta now for you to enjoy.
Specifically, the iOS 26.2 beta is still out for iPhone users. As the second update to iOS 26, it seems like it will be a change or a change. But, the good folks at places like 9to5mac have been digging into iOS 26.2 and coming back with some great new features to expect when the update drops in the near future for ISH.

IOS 26.2 Beta: The most new features
Here’s what to expect from iOS 26.2.
Change in apple podcasts
As I said, iOS 26.2 is not a major update. Most of the changes are small updates to apps and whatnot, starting with apple podcasts.
Specifically, podcasts will now have AI-generated chapters with timestamps. Podcast creators are free to do their own thing that will override the generated AIs, but if they don’t feel like doing that, at least you’ll have you say To use as a guide when to avoid Spooler discussions about a movie you’ve never seen. There is also a new “Podcast Mentions” feature that will link to other podcasts mentioned in the listener.

Sleep score correction
It is interesting that Apple has decided to analyze the Apple Watch Sleep Stere System. Here are the new classifications for points, and the previous ones in Parenthesis:
-
Lowest: 0-40 (was 0-29 previously)
-
Minimum: 41-60 (was 30-49 before)
-
OK: 61-80 (was 50-69 before)
-
Maximum: 81-95 (was 70-89 before)
-
Best: 96-100 (was 90-100 before)
In other words, there is much less forgiveness than before.
Apple News Redesign
Apple is also making some UI changes to the Apple News app. For example, the “Today” screen now has simple buttons for food, puzzles, politics and sports, so you don’t have to search for those things yourself. There’s also a new “following” tab that will list your saved stories and favorites.
Liquid screen lock screen
Finally, Apple continues its quest to make people love liquid glass more.
After introducing the ability to install fluid UI in IOS 26.1, IOS 26.2 Beta gives you more control. There is now a slider that allows you to change the opacity of the clock on your lock screen. This isn’t a huge change, but it should be welcome for people who really, really don’t like liquid glass.
