Sony makes a giant 240hz playstation monitor with a dualSense charging tower

Sony had some new hardware to unveil during its Japan Showcase event on Tuesday. Along with the refreshing Japanese-only PS5 digital edition, the company revealed the official PlayStation monitor that you can also force on your PC. It is a 27-inch QHD display with a refresh rate of 240hz and support for HDR and a variable refresh rate. However, the refresh rate is limited to 120hz when playing PS5 games.
In addition, the monitor has a charging hook. It folds down the back of the display and you can place your dualSense controller on it, so you’re ready to play whenever the mood strikes. The Guardian will be available in the US and Japan sometime next year. Sony did not reveal how much it will cost.
The monitor follows the Pulse Upgrade portable desktop speakers that Sony announced back in September. This will work on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation Portal and is set to arrive in 2026.
The new hardware appears to be part of the company’s push to become more of a player in the PC movement. For example, the company recently made it possible to support a dualSense controller with more than one device at a time, which makes it easy to change the connection from PS5 to PC and Vice-versa.
