The Trump Administration challenges California to ban Ice Agent masks

The Trump administration filed a lawsuit on Monday challenging the promotion of Federal Immigration Agents from wearing face masks to hide their identities, arguing that the measure is illegal.
The lawsuit says that the State does not have the authority to prevent federal agents.
California Gov. Gavin Newlom signed the No Police Police Act and no one is awake to make it law in September. Under the bills, most law enforcement officers, including federal agents, would be prohibited from wearing masks on duty and other officers would be required to show identification during their duties.
Without the ban on masks, non-professional agents will be allowed, for those who use medical masks such as N95 respirators or as part of tactical gear.

NewsOM said that Federal immigration officials will no longer be held accountable “while performing duties in California.”
“That’s not the American we grew up with. And so we’re coming back,” he said before the signing.
Federal agents have continued to attack people in California from southern California since June, targeting migrant workers in local businesses that have sparked protests and the subsequent deployment of security forces and nearby marches. During the raid, some federal agents wore masks and hid their identities.
The administration is urging the court to find the laws a violation of a key clause of the US Constitution and issue a preliminary injunction barring California from enforcing the laws.

The lawsuit contends that California’s laws violate Article 5, Section 301 of the US Code, which states that agency officials “may issue regulations to the government of his department [and] The behavior of its employees. “
Attorney General Pam Bondi said Monday that California’s laws “are discriminatory against the federal government and are designed to create harm to our providers.”
After signing and signing the measures, administration officials directed ice agents to ignore California laws.

But supporters of the masks for immigration providers say the use of face coverings creates fear among the public and should be stopped.
Newslom’s Office said California officials “will see [DOJ] in court. “
“If the Trump administration cares as much about public safety as they do forgiving Dosi’s attackers, they are violating human rights,” said a spokesman for Donald Trump who apologized on Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol.
