A bar owner is facing backlash online after posting a video mocking a customer who accused him of “discrimination” by banning late-night drinkers, a policy that has now become an international debate.
Carl Peters, the owner of Alibi, a cocktail and karaoke bar in Altrincham, England, said in an Instagram video earlier this month that he will enforce the “PM” rule after opening in 2022, according to reports.
In his first video, which has received more than 10,000 views on Instagram, Peters described an encounter that took place at night outside a bar where a man pointed out “without a written input” in the comparison of black or Asian fanatics.

Peter maintained that his department policy is about credit.

After the first video, analysts blasted the policy, calling it “sensitive” and “small-minded,” the New York report said.

But women and other activists argue that the law makes sense. “As a mother of 2 young daughters, I accept your policy,” said one woman, adding, “safety in numbers.”
As the backlash snowballed and international news outlets picked up on the story, Peters explained in the following video that he was trying to “draw a line under it,” calling the whole situation “absolutely perfect.”
