A 26-year-old woman who was set on fire by an alleged Chicago gunman is described by friends and neighbors as a kind and cold person with a close-knit, young family.

Bethany Magee, the victim of the horrific attack, is a diligent student who took honors classes at her high school in Indiana, former classmate Ethan told New York.

“He is [is] Incredibly smart. He’s very outspoken, very gentle, very smart,” she said.

A neighborhood close to the family in their small Christian community, Indiana, said the community is keeping him in their thoughts and prayers as he remains in critical condition at a hospital Nov. 17.

“We just know that they are going through a difficult time, so we are praying for them,” said another outlet.

“They’re a good family … about love as much as possible,” the resident said, emphasizing the parents’ desire for privacy as they process the tragedy.

Authorities said the alleged attacker, 50-year-old Lawrence Reed, had spent decades in the criminal justice system and was out on bond at the time of the attack.

Reed was ordered to be electronically recruited on Aug. 22, when District Judge Teresa Molina-Gonzalez rejected the prosecution’s request to see him in social disciplinary proceedings without knowing anything about Macneal Hospital wag.

That way, documents show Molina-Gonzalez told prosecutors, “I can’t put up with everyone in jail because the state attorney wants me to be.”

According to court documents in that battery case, Cook County electronic surveillance records show violations of his curfew and travel restrictions in the days leading up to the attack on Chicago Transit Auth on November 17.

On Tuesday, the White House weighed in on this attack on Magee, blasting leftist policies in the inner cities.

“Soft liberal-crime policies are failing and law-abiding citizens at risk by X.” A career criminal with 72 arrests it has never been easier to navigate the streets. Pray for Bethany. “

Reed faces a charge of terroristic attack or violence in a mass transit program, according to the criminal complaint.

Federal prosecutors allege that Reed deliberately used gasoline and set Magee on fire at about 9:30 p.m.

U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois Andrew Boutros said Magee was ‘minding his own business and studying his money’ while sitting on the curb, and tried to remove the liquid.

Magee ran back to the back of the car as he poured all the liquid out of the bottle and used it to light her on fire, according to the complaint.

The man who identified himself at the post office as the victim’s brother at the family’s home on Monday said, “Thank you for stopping by, but there is no comment at this time.”
