Broncos’ Alex Singleton reveals testicular cancer diagnosis in statement

Denver Broncos Middle Linebacker Alex Singleton revealed that he underwent surgery to remove testicular cancer one day after playing against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Singleton announced a health scare on social media, saying that the diagnosis was made after a league-sanctioned drug test “Less than two weeks ago” showed that he had elevated HCG levels, which led to further discussions with doctors.
They found a tumor that needed to be surgically removed, and the singleton said she had a “great prognosis” to make a full recovery.

“Fortunately, we believe that the cancer was caught early with a serious illness for me and my family,” the statement said. “While we await further test results, I fully expect to be back in the wild in the coming weeks.”
Hingleton added that he saw Dr. Andrew Zilovy, a pathologist, who determined that he showed signs of having an ear infection.

“I immediately contacted the broncos, and they contacted Dr. Geoff Ledgerwood, who was able to quickly conduct an ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis,” Singleton said in a statement. “And then Friday, after playing in the Raiders Game the night before, I had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor and begin the road to a full recovery.”
Singleton said he told his partners about the situation on Monday before revealing it publicly. She admitted she had second thoughts about telling the world but believed her story needed to be shared.

“I struggled with sharing that kind of information publicly,” she said. “But the truth is, if it helps one person decide to take care of their body, then it’s worth it. Early detection saves lives and can save loved ones a lot of grief.”
Singleton has been one of the most consistent tackles in recent times, as he ranks fifth in the league in tackles (89) through 10 games.
Before suffering injuries in three ships to finish each year, singleton, defensive captain of the broncon, recorded 177 combined in 2023 after posting 203 in the first year in Denver.

Singleton’s career began in the Canadian Football League, where he found his formation with the Calgary Stampeders between 2016 and 2018.
