Opena drives group chats in ChatGt

Opelai has started pilot test group discussions within Chatgt in Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and Taiwan. Like group chat in messaging apps, you can create chats with friends and family. In this case, however, chatgpt is one of the participants, creating an itinerary as you plan a holiday, giving you ideas for renovation projects or helping you find accommodation for everyone in the chat when planning a night out. You can also use the feature to interact with your classmates or colleagues. For example, ChatGTT, for example, can generate reports based on topics and prompt you and your partners to provide them.
To start a group chat, you must tap on the people icon in the upper right corner of the screen in any new or existing chat. Chatgpt will create a new chat out of your chat history when you start from an existing chat. After that you can add people or share the link in a group chat with 1 to 20 people, then who should delete the profile with their name, username and photo. Note that anyone with a link can invite people in, and participants can send or remove other participants from the chat at any time in the group creator. And if anyone in the chat is under 18, the Chatbot automatically limits sensitive content to everyone.
Group chat responses are enabled by GPT-5.1 Auto, which can choose which response model based on support. OpenAI says it has taught the chatbot to follow group chats, so it knows when to stay silent and when to respond, but participants can always silence the chatbot by saying “chatgpt.” The company also says it will continue to pull the feature depending on feedback from early users before it is widely released.
