Throughout his career, Eddie Murphy has also had some memorable run-ins.
In the Netflix book, “Eddie,” the actor and Comedian, 64, remembers a sexual proposal from Yul Brynner who has lived with him all these years.
“My 21st birthday party, I was in the studio at 54,'” Murphy recalled. “Yul Bryntner, ‘The Ten Commandments,’ He had his wife with him and he said, ‘Would you like to go back to my apartment with my wife and I and the party?’ And I was like, ‘nah, I’m cool!’ And I saw as I grew older, his wife smiled. Did he want me to f– his wife? “
“That matter will be known [have] you’re better off,” you know.

Brynner died in 1985 after a battle with lung cancer.
Before the release of the documentary, Murphy was heard again about the ‘fake’ Hollywood and explained why he thinks he is being ignored by the Oscars.
“That’s one of the reasons why I don’t go to shows and stuff, the feeling of being in a room full of famous people who all want to achieve something, that feeling is that feeling,” he told USA today. “Everybody’s dressed up and pretending … Being in a room full of famous people is just weird – I don’t like it.”
“I’ve always liked to hang around the house,” Murphy continued. “People I know who are comedians … do it because they love it. They love it. They get something out of getting that stage and feeling empowered and everything, and I’m the exact opposite.”

“My batteries are rebuilt in a state of peace when I’m at home, or I’m somewhere where everything can slow down, that’s where I give energy,” he added where I get energy, “add where I get energy,” he added where I go. “The crowd drains my energy.”
Throughout his career, he plays every role under the sun – he is an elderly woman “Professor Nutty,” a donkey who talks about animals “Dr. Doolittle,” a Jewish man in America “and many more. From helping comics to reposition themselves in today’s society to reveal the path of black actors leading in Hollywood, Murphy has dedicated his life to show business and the silver screen.

However, he he never won an oscar.
Murphy, who kicked off his career as a stand-up comedian at the age of 15, took his role in the “Saturday Night Live” in the 1980s. Over the next few years, he landed leading roles in various films including “Beverly Hills Cop,” “boomerang,” “coming to America at night,” “coming to America” and more.
By the late 80s and late 90s, Murphy had achieved Megastar status and was on his way to one of Hollywood’s most liberal times.
“I wanted to be funny like Richard [Pryor]. I wanted to be as cool as Elvis [Presley]. And I wanted to be as big as the Beatles,” the caption said.
Reginald Hudlin, the film’s producer and director, said Murphy had a career.

“One of the quiet adages that Eddie has is, ‘HEY, black people have never had a movie like that. There had never been a dark romantic comedy before.
“Because we showed black life in a way that had never been put on screen before, there was this extreme majesty,” Hudlin said. “Hollywood back then and today. There are a lot of negative events. The dark stars of the movie were always breaking all these barriers, but those barriers were automatic.”

“When they came to me, and said they wanted me to present this award with a good picture, my manager came to me and told me that the school had chosen me,” Murphy told the crowd. “My first reaction was, ‘No, I’m not going.’ And my boss said, ‘Why?’ And I said, ‘I’m not going because they haven’t seen black people in the movies.’ And he said, ‘What are you talking about? Black people win Oscars.’ “
“I’m not going to win an Oscar for saying this, but hey, that’s Hey,” he said. “Actually, I could get into any kind of trouble because the way it’s been going, about every 20 years we’ve had one, so we haven’t had that time.”

“I just want you to know that I’m going to give this award, but black people are not going to ride in the public caboose, and we’re not going to add it again. ‘ They said, ‘Fine, it’s done.’ I said, ‘When should I be there?’ He said, ‘Well, you don’t have to get there until nine or 10 years. It’s the last prize of the evening.’ “
Murphy later suggested that his words may be the reason he was never given an Oscar.

“The next day, it was like I didn’t say anything,” Murphy recalled in the transcript. “There were no pictures of me at the OSCARS. There was no nomination for me. It didn’t mean I didn’t get an Oscar, man. I got everything.”
“I did everything, and I never got an Oscar, but I don’t think it’s because of that,” added Murphy with a smirk.

“I think I’m in a bit of a rut as an analyst,” said the historian. “I feel like there are other things I want to do, and I don’t want to do the things I’ve done before, and I want to do different kinds of movies and explore where I’ve been in the last few years between marriage and children and personal life.”
Murphy is the father of ten children from various relationships. He and his wife, Paige Bell, married in 2024 and share two children together.

“My children are the center of everything,” she said. “Before kids, it’s about you, and when you have kids, it’s all about that.”
