After almost a year of rumors of a hypothetical third text Gremlins Movie was works, now big: Gremlins 3 it’s happening, and it’s coming sooner than you might expect.
During an investor call this morning, Warner Bros. The discovery by President David Zaslav confirmed that Gremlins 3 It has been added to the Studio release schedule and is currently targeting a November 19, 2027, release. No other details have been revealed, but Steven Spielberg will return to direct Khiqiva, which will be directed by Chris Columbus.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Final Destination: Bloodlines Directors Bach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein will work on the script for Columbus, who has a long history with the franchise behind the camera, having written the original 1984 horror-comedy classic.
It’s been 35 years since the gremlins hit the big screen, in the sequel, A new batchdirected by original director Joe Dante, it leans away from the first film’s more serious and comedy-oriented roots, including a lot of pastiche and adoration (and drags in its place with a gag or two). Only time will tell what kind we build Gremlins 3 it will take, but with Columbus back behind the scenes in a big way, it would not have been more unreasonable to expect something more like the original film, rather than its CULY-physical sequel.
