Ryan Reynolds received backlash this week after a discussion about the launch of his boxed wine, Bad States, only sold in Minnesota.
The “dead” star insulted some people in the land of 10,000 lakes by referring to it as an “underdog” situation and suggesting that it does not have the same feeling of grass as a beach like a beach.
“You want to go to places that will get it,” Reynolds told the Minnesota Star Tribune in a segment published Monday. “I don’t think Martha’s Vineyard is really going to accept this approach in Minnesota.”
And even though the wine is from California, the fact that it’s bottled and not bottled believes that midwesterners can have a proper sense of humor about it.

An Instagram user wrote that Reynolds had insulted “the state by calling it an Underdog despite US News & World Report ranking it as the No. 4 Best State overall.
“Nothing is under our control other than having a football team that will never win a Super Bowl,” he wrote. “Sports is not everyone’s life and the clear underdog status of the whole State diminishes the beauty of our communities.

One user wrote in X, “Mylinaire Ryan was walking slowly of his wine, he said, ‘I don’t think Martha’s Vineyard will really accept this way Minnesota’ to Charm Minnesotans apparently.”
But not all agreed. One user felt that the word “underdog” was the misciest. “It’s not down. It’s a hero. Hell there was even a cartoon about it.”
