Logitech goes after Keyboard Snobs with Hot-Swappable Alto Keys K98m
Logitech hopes to attract all the keebheads out there with its latest Alto K98m keyboard. While this keyboard has been available in Asian markets for a while, Logitech has finally brought its customized performance keyboard to the US. It may be appealing to some people, but it’s a welcome return to a hot offering from Logitech. Alto Keys K98m is now available in US markets through its website for $119.
According to Logitech, the Alto Key K98m comes with a hot marble replacement. While Logitech sells some mechanical keyboards, the most notable of the hot keyboards was the Logitech g Pro X from 2019. Now, Logitech wants to get back into the hard side of the keyboard. Instead of a dazzling RGBO light, the Alto Key K98m features a visible frame surrounded by white backlighting. For long days, the keyboard has a synchronization design, where the full frame of the gasket absorbs the typing vibration for improved feeling and sound.
For ease of customization, Logitech includes three action buttons that can be programmed to whatever you need. The first three F buttons act as toggle buttons that allow you to cycle between the three devices. Alto Key K98m works wirelessly via Bluetooth and is compatible with windows, macos, chromeos and iPados. Logitech said the keyboard will last up to a year of wireless use if you keep the backling low. When the Alto Keint K98m battery runs low, you can continue to use it as you recharge it through the USB-C Port.
