Streaming services end up raising prices. At this point, if you subscribe to all the major services out there, you pay the same price as cable – those old local broadcast positions were supposed to save us. But streaming still has one big advantage over older methods: no contracts. That means you can grab a great streaming deal and cancel without penalty.
Our advice is to sign up for the service when you see a good streaming deal (or the latest season of, say, Doctor Who, It’s too divisive, Purpose and / or Last for us). Then, when the deal ends or you delete whatever you want to watch, cancel as needed. But streaming deals don’t come around all that often and, when they do, they’re easy to miss because of … everything. That’s why we keep receiving the best streams out there and update this guide often – so check us out the next time you’re hankering to watch something new.
Best streaming deals
True streaming deals can be hard to come by. Usually, they will appear during Black Friday shopping. From time to time, we will see less of them throughout the year and they often take the form of a reduced monthly or annual amount for a limited time. Also, the true streaming deals are usually in the ad-based versions, but once in a while you’ll find a unicorn tier with a boatload of ad-free views.
If you can wait for a deal before signing up for a streaming service, we recommend doing so. You’ll save money up front and in the long run, and you also have the option to cancel your subscription before the price goes back to normal.

TV + Hulu + Live – $64.99/MO for 3 months ($25/mo off): Eligible returning subscribers can get three months of HLU + Live TV at a rate of $ 65 per month, $ 90 percent higher content and access to Disney + and ESP streaming services under this umbrella. We think that being on the edge of Hulu + live, we named it one of the best TV streaming services on the market right now. Just remember that your subscription will be billed at the new standard rate of $90/month after the first three months.

Sound subscription (three months) for $3 ($42 off): Starting now in mid-December, you can get an Audiobook subscription for just a dollar a month for three months. Note that it will automatically renew at $15 per month after this, but you can cancel at any time.
Starz (one year) for $30 ($40 off): Pay in advance for one year and you can get $40 Off the Stars Sign up. There’s a month-to-month option as well, which costs $5 a month for the first three months if you don’t want to commit to a full year. Either option gives you access to the entire Starz TV and Movie Library for offline viewing and no ads.
DirectV starts at $50/month for one month ($35 off): All Directv signature packages are $35 off now for your first month when you sign up. If you choose the Base “Entertainment” package, you will spend $50 in the first month and have access to more than 90 channels, including many local channels and ESPN, and FOX Sports 1.
FUBO Pro for $55/Month for the first month ($30 off): FUBO has introductory discounts on many of its packages, and the pro package is the least expensive plan currently listed. It offers access to 224 channels, unlimited cloud DVR and up to 10 simultaneous streams. It also includes regional sports content from the NHL, MLB and NBA.
Spotify Premium each (3 months) for $0 ($36 off): This is our music streaming service for your favorite podcasts and social features. Each premium plan allows you to listen to songs without ads and skip songs at will. You can also organize your listening queue and download offline listening content. Just be aware, your subscription will automatically renew at the end of the trial period. So if you don’t want to be stuck with the $12 monthly fee, set a reminder to cancel and go back to the free version.
Broadcasting bulk discounts
There is more integration happening now than there was before the broadcast of space, and that means there are ways to stream more. These bundles give you access to more content for a single subscription price, but those prices are often more than paying for the single service itself (obviously). It can be tempting to just get a bundle, but if only one of those services in the bundle speaks to you, you’ll spend less money paying for just one service.
Speaking of a deep love for one streaming service: If all your favorite shows are on peacock or the latest release on HBA MAX brings you unreasonably happy, consider paying a premium for one year. Signing up for an annual plan often saves you money in the long run by paying monthly. Unfortunately, not all streaming services (looking at you, Netflix) have an annual subscription option.
Disney. +
If you feel like Charlie Kelly trying to figure out who Pepe Silvia is when you look at Disney’s price chart, you’re not alone. The confusion stems from the fact that Disney owns, or has a stake in, many streaming services including Hulu and ESPN. Throw in a partnership with HBE Max and you have a ton of options to consider and, perhaps, a Whiplash to match. Here’s a quick overview of the popular Disney+.
Peacock tv
Peacock doesn’t have any year-round streaming bundles, but you can save if you pay for one year up front.
Importance +
Paramount+ used to charge its tier with showtime as a kind of bundles, but it has since rebranded its strategy and focused on the inclusion of showtime in its premium tier as well as a bonus to pay for the higher price plan.

Student discounts on streaming services
It pays to be a student – sometimes, at least. Many streaming services have student discounts you can take advantage of as long as you study diligently. What that translates to most of the time is being able to verify your student status and sign up with your email address.
HBO Max Student Discount – Sign up for $5/month (50% off): HBO max offers their ad-supported tier for HALF Off readers. You will have to verify that you are a student by using unifides, and note that this offer is only valid for 12 months of service.
Hulu Student Discount – Sign up for $2/month (75% off): Those with a valid Student ID can get Tulu’s Ad-Subpoked Tier at 75 percent off. They will keep the same retail price as long as they are a student.
Spotify Student Discount – Premium + Hulu-Hulu with ads for $ 6 / month (72 percent off): Spotify’s student offer continues to be one of the closest, giving you access to the premium tier of Sykarker’s music and an ad-supported program for only $6 per month. Purchased separately, you’ll pay $22 per month for both services. Plus, the first month is free when you sign up.
NBA League Pass Student Access – One year for $120 (40 percent off): Students can get a one-year league pass for just $10 a month, which includes access to NBA TV and the ability to watch old and archived games. On the NBA League Pass website, look for the student discount banner at the top and follow the instructions to verify your student status.
