So, you’re wondering if you should buy a black room on Black Friday. The good news is that most of the 2025 rooms will hit new record low sales prices during Friday’s black period. The bad news is that those 2025 rooms didn’t sell well this year, and Irobot may not be in business for much longer.

Why I love it

At $399.99, the Roomba and 405 sit at a pretty competitive price for a robot acop combo that can wash and dry its own cleaning packages. The 405 was one of the best new cameras I tested in 2025, and its cleaning of the mopping cycles was better than the combo J7 + and the combo 10 max. The 405 will never get lost or go to the wrong room in my apartment, but the smart Irobot map was not changing in time before they switched to a lidar tower design in 2025.

My biggest gripe with the RoombaBA Plus 405 is its lack of a small tech barrier, which Irobot reserved for the roborock plus 505. It’s difficult to make the roborock qrevo.
