Dodger Pitcher Alex Vesia steps away before the World Series, miss parade

The Los Angeles Dodgers eliminated the Toronto Blue Jays in a thrilling 7 Game-Game World Series that went to Extra Innings over and over again.

Two days after the Dodgers’ 5-4 Game 7 Win 7 made back-to-back headlines, the team celebrated with a championship parade in Los Angeles — but one player was completely absent.

Pilcher Pitcher Alex Vesia walked away from the team shortly before the World Series began and did not return to the game.

The Dodgers recently revealed that Vesia and his wife, Kayla, were dealing with a “deeply personal matter” that would require him to spend an undisclosed amount of time with the team.

“The entire DoDger organization is sending their thoughts to the Vesia family, and we will provide an update in the future,” the team said in a statement on Oct. 23.

In April, the couple shared the news of Kayla’s pregnancy and confirmed that they were expecting a girl. In the months since, they have posted several photos on social media documenting the pregnancy.

Oct. 18 marked the most recent post from the 29-year-old MLB player or his wife. Both shared photos celebrating the creation of the world series.

Oct. 18 marked the latest social media post from the 29-year-old MLB player or Kayla. Those posts were related to the anticipation of the creation of the world series.

vesia coworker Klein said Alex and Kayla after the Dodgers won back-to-back World Series titles.

Klein said: “We’re all actors. We just want him to know that he’s in our hearts, and we’ve done all this for him.”

“He’s a big part of why we’re here in the first place, so just to be able to do this for them — there’s a lot of tough places to be on the mound for the World Series,” Klein said. “And then, what they are facing is not good.”

Klein also noted that the Blue Jays are taxed in Vesia.

“It’s bigger than baseball,” he said. “And it was really nice to be a part of Him.”

Vesia appeared in 68 regular season games and seven postseason games this season.
